Tong Liu’s EQUILIBRIUM “SUPERNOVA”

Tong Liu’s EQUILIBRIUM “SUPERNOVA” road racer . Completion of the bike was scheduled for the Pas Normal Studios and CYCLECUBE group ride that took place just a couple days ago . To make it in time I had to make an effort ( aero frames are always extremely difficult to deal with ) great help showed COOK PAINT WORKS forcing their schedule as well . Finally frame was finished just two days before official ride , built up and handed over to Liu . After the weekend of hard riding 300km with 3500m of climbing rider’s feedback was positive . Last day before he left for Toyama it was raining we had no choice just to take a farewell set of images at the same shooting spot around my workshop , in a way we were happy it rained – showing the soul and drama of cycling at it’s best .

Frame – EQUILIBRIUM CYCLE WORKS
Paint – COOK PAINT WORKS
Pictures – Tong Liu

Frame’s specs :

Columbus SPIRIT steel tubing , front triangle reinforced with aero sections for better rigidity increasing the stiffness of the front end with aero consideration in mind . Despite the very solid feeling up front it has the ride quailty and comfort of a
proper steel bike .
After building a few prototypes and refining the construction method, aero shapes added up just as little as 150g to the frame’s total (1.8kg) .
